NBO – HOUSING NORDIC
BIENNIAL CONFERENCE 2020

SEPTEMBER 11 FROM 10:00 – 12:00

The Corona crisis has cemented the role of affordable housing as a central part of the sustainable development in Europe and the Nordic region; economically, environmentally, and socially. But what exactly is it that affordable housing across the Nordic region can offer the welfare societies? Why is it important in the sustainable transition of the Nordic countries? - and how can affordable housing help fulfill the Nordic prime ministers' new vision for the Nordic region?

You can learn more about this when NBO - Housing Nordic and this years hosts BL - Danish Social Housing invites to a conference on affordable housing and its role in the sustainable transition in the wake of the Corona pandemic.

Due to the Coronavirus the conference will be a digital webinar.

Language: Nordic and English.

Perspectives and inspiration on
housing as the center of welfare
- in light of the corona pandemic

By Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh, mayor of Malmö, Sweden.

Malmö has signed up to The Shift, a global movement to
secure the human right to housing.

Kathrin will give an overview of how ‘The Shift ‘ and focus on
housing as a right instead of an economic asset, has affected
housing policy and urban development in Malmö. How
it has inspired her and what opportunities she sees
for the future. Questions that will be touched upon:

  • How does implementation of The Shift in housing
politics affect cooperation - with private builders, with
local actors, with the authorities and with the residents?

  • What role does it play in relation to an overall goal of
    more sustainability economically, socially and
    environmentally?
